The "Toaster" phone was so nicknamed because it looked like an old fashioned toaster. The telephones real model number is TP-6-A, and can be seen on the underside with the super steel plate showing the wiring. This fabulous telephone was only ever produced for the American army, by The Connecticut Telephone Company. Its now very rare due to only a small quantity being built. As it was built for the army it had massive construction, and is exceptionally heavy with the body being a cast construction of Zinc, with a bakelite handset and chrome dial.
