This great set of six Bakelite-handled art deco fruit knives was made in Germany in the 1930s. The knives were made in the German town of Solingen, famous as a knife-producing town, and come in their own art deco styled stand. The knife blades are made from stainless steel, marked as Rostfrei, and the knife handles are made from warm opaque marbled orange and yellow Bakelite (which tests positive for Bakelite with Simichrome). The clear moulded Lucite stand is formed into a C-shape with six slots cut for the blades, and a single slot in the base to hold the blade tips.
