This is a superb, original 1930's Art
Deco figural group with matching garnitures. As you can see from the
pictures the colouring is nothing less than beautiful, as is the detailing.
This piece features a young woman in motion restraining a young goat
from butting her. She's made from spelter and gilded on top, resting
on a multi coloured marble base, so making this a very heavy piece.
The two matching garnitures are also spelter with gilding and supported
on marble plinths. To the top of both garnitures are brass holder
inserts for candles. The decoration to the garnitures is very geometric
and typical of high end Deco styling. She's signed to the back of
her dress "GEO MAXIM".
The whole piece is very large and impressive,
it really does ooze quality.
